We were able to attend the wedding of our good friends Jerel and Mary Ann Abas (Ong) at South Lake Tahoe. It was a beautiful wedding and we had a really good time! For their official blog go here.

O God of love, you have established marriage for our welfare and happiness.
Yours was the plan, and only with you can we work it out with joy.
You have said, “it is not good for man to live alone, I will make a helper for him.”
Now our joys are doubled, since the happiness of one is the happiness of the other;
our burdens are halved, since, when we share them, we divide the load.

Bless this husband, Jerel.
Bless him as provider for the needs of those he loves.
Sustain him in all his struggles in the contest of life.
May his strength be her protection, his character be her joy and assurance.
May he live that she finds in him the haven for which the heart of a woman longs.

Bless this loving wife, Mary Ann.
Give her a great tenderness, a deep sense of understanding and great faith in You.
Give her that inner beauty of soul that never fades,
eternal youth that is found in holding fast to the things that never age.
May she so live that he may be pleased always to reverence and adore her.

Lord, teach them that marriage is not just living for each other.
It is two people uniting and joining hands to serve You, the living God.
Give them a great spiritual purpose in life.
May they seek first the kingdom that is yours, and its righteousness,
so that all other things may be added unto them.
Loving you best, they shall love each other all the more.
And faithful unto You, faithful unto each other they will remain.

7-19-2013 Summer evenings

Another normal day of working hard and working late. and I started early too because I'm helping students with their physical fitness but the best time to help them its at 6 o'clock in the morning. oh well I need to workout too! I really want to get the maximum physical fitness score when I go to my officers leaders course. it has already been a month since I started working as a ROTC recruiter where did that month go? It has been 2 months since I graduated this summer is already flying bye. before I know it I will be in Texas. less than a month until my wife and I travel to Texas for our 4 year anniversary! I'm looking forward to those nine days of vacation. today Melanie is up at Lake Tahoe with her mother celebrating the Shakespeare festival. that was their birthday present to her. so its just me and Dina tonight until mommy gets home. I'm trying to lose a little weight so taking her on a walk every night helps us both out haha. plus it gives me an opportunity to enjoy the nice weather we're having. Too bad that is too soon until I have to wake up and it all starts over again but overall life is good especially with Dina finds another tennis ball. she also found a cat tonight and held a good point. I need to train her. She would be a really good hunting dog.

7-16-2013 The normal work week

A normal work week for me consists of Monday through Friday 9 to 5. I'm working as a recruiter for the ROTC on active duty orders. it's only temporary until September when I will go to my officer training course in Texas,but its a good job. I am getting paid the equivalent of $20 per hour has a new second lieutenant! my main job is to enroll students in the military science class. I do presentations about the ROTC twice a week for interested incoming freshman. I also do pt for anybody who wants to get better at working out which starts at 7am. the other faculty are there from 9 o'clock to 2 o'clock normally so they leave early, but I usually have a lot more work to do it seems. so today I stayed until 9 pm working on a project but it felt really good to get it done. Hopefully someone recognizes my efforts but if not I know that I'm doing a good job and I'm doing it right which is the only way to do it. Now I am ending my day walking my dog Dyna around the neighborhood. she literally always finds a tennis ball every single time we go for a walk. I don't know how she does it! the other part of the normal work week is Melanie works night shift so when I get home late I don't see her until the next dayand tonight was one of those nights.luckily I have Dyna to keep me company!

7-13-2013 Working in my new unit

Even though I am working with the ROTC I still do work with the Army National Guard one weekend a month. I am in a new unit. I have been with the 422 Signal Battalion for the past 5 years but now I am with the 3/140th MEDEVAC Unit. I am a brand new officer and I have never drilled with them before. But today I got to go and meet the commander captain Sour. he is a good commander from the beginning he sat down and talked to us a whole lot about helicopters  and becoming a good Aviation officer. I don't really know a whole lot of people in my new unit just a few. A lot of the unit is on the planet right now. I do know lieutenant redden. he and I graduated and commissions together. we will even be going to flight school together. At the same time for the same training.  at the end of the day we got to see Captain sauer fly the Lakota. he was doing his minimum light our requirements and tomorrow he said he will possibly take us out on a flight in the Lakota! I can't wait to fly one of those! so now after work was done I have been running an errand for Melanie. you see me she forgot her medicine before taking off to work and so I have ran back and forth to get her dinner and her medicine. so much for my evening but its not like I had anything planned anyways! so I will write these last words and go to bed.

7-12-2013 More than a year later...but big news!

I haven't written in over year but I will try 2 catch up buy mentioning the more important things. Since january 2012 I turned 27 in april and went to my army training in fort lewis washington. When I came back melanie and I decided to start trying to have a baby. She turned 26 in july and in august I started my second to last semester. We had everybody in our new home for christmas like we always wanted and we watch fireworks in downtown reno for new years with dyna. I then started my last semester in college and graduated with a bachelors degree in spanish. I also commissioned as a nevada army national guard officer as a MEDEVAC pilot. It was such a great time in my life but melanie and I had a couple of miscarriages and found out that melanie has a blocked felopean tube and antiphospholipid syndrome which causes complications to pregnancy. We decided to try again and anxiously awaited test results. Melanie and I went to have an ultrasound today and found out that we are pregnant and everything looks good! So we named our little baby peanut if it is a boy and sweet pea if it is a girl. It is exciting and I want to tell the whole world that I'm going to be a new dad but we will keep it a secret for now and record it only in my journal. Now I want to be a better person and prepare to be a father more than ever so in order to do this I wall right in my blog. I will work everyday to improve something about myself and document my changes along the way . Since I got my smartphone back yesterday with a microphone it makes blogging so much easier . That's all for now!
